Slate is a "clean slate" advanced language based on Smalltalk syntax and Self / CLOS semantics. It's designed to provide a platform where many existing interesting ideas can be incorporated cleanly at an early stage in the environment's inception. The vision is for better integration and for more interesting combinations to arise in order to make a better Squeak-like system.
