FractalMorph package on SM updated. I think I added like 15 lines of code. That's like maybe one machine instruction per day I'm averaging over the past who knows how many months... oh well!

I am trying to get settled into a new lifestyle here in Newport, RI. Relocating from Memphis, TN has been a major ordeal. It may be a while before I have extracuricular Internet access again. So, no effective time to follow any squeak-dev or especially IRC #squeak.

Rats!
But my new job here is pretty exciting - so it should work out. I need to consult the "where is everyone located" page on the swiki. I bet there are more nearby Squeakers than there were in Memphis (zero).

Ciao-

Hello

Lately, I have not made any progress as far as Squeak goes. I wrote a fairly complicated SmaCC parser this past week, and a simple one last week. Both took the contents of a medical textbook src and structured them into something that's human-digestable (for manual entry into some proprietary abominable web viewer). Overall it was 119 chapters of content!

I'm sure you could do the same in Python or something, but for me this is awesome to work so fast and cut 2 or 3 weeks of brain dead labor out of a project. Squeak just rocks.

I'm really just revealing these stories because I feel guilty for not doin any other real Squeak stuff!

I set an area for me to show how I benefit from Squeak at work. I have a lot of uses of SmaCC that I can show soon, but for now I have a simple example of some script that I have been using this past week:

I have a great new design fleshed out for creating an extremely domain-specific semantic network kind of abstraction onto the existing IRC bot code.

This weekend might prove to be a small hackfest to get this clean bot code out on the streets. The ugly-greedy-naive way just won't cut it!
