Most people I talked to in the Technion that know anything about Smalltalk learned it from the OOP class. Most are somewhere between unimpressed and bruised about it. They learn it from a few exercises, done using A Little Smalltalk. Blech. Pretty depressing state of affairs.

I have a friend here that persistently sends me email in hebrew. Need to have hebrew in Celeste. So much to do, so little time... and Calculus takes precendence.

Its nice to see a bit from the side how interesting things
keep happening in Squeak land. Today I got a link to
http://csdl.computer.org/comp/proceedings/c5/2003/1975/00/1975toc.htm,
which reminded me just how much is going on in Squeak-land
that I at least am not aware of. Causes me to think that as
strong as the community is in terms of aggregated creative
work, there's still lots of room for improving communications between the parts of the community...

So I think this site is a very welcome addition.
