Notes: Thanks to good training and mentors, Smalltalk has become a significant part of my life. My goal is to bring "the computer" to "power-users". These are adults who want to wield the computer for their purpose, and may even be ambitious enough to do minor scripting, but don't have the time to learn deep programming. They need a system that provides many layers of accessibility. Today, existing programs mostly just offer two layers of accessibility: 1) the user layer which is very constrained and 2) the expert programmer layer, which requires a lot of programming skill. Many more layers between these two are needed to allow non-programmers to solve easy problems. Squeak fits the bill better than anything for building these layers.
