Documentation Agenda, posted 5 Oct 2006 by tapple (Journeyer)

I have two agenda suggestions (both applicable to the documentation team):

Not exactly an agenda item, but..., posted 1 Nov 2006 by KenCausey (Journeyer)

One area I would like the Board to work on is leadership. What I mean by this is not simply making decisions for the community, but helping the community make decisions.

There is a good recent example: the various 'Remove eToys from Morphic' thread. Clearly the discussion on this issue indicates this is an important subject to the community and there is a wide diversity of opinions. What the discussion really needs though is some form of organization and refereeing. I think it would help everyone if someone from the board would step in and lead the discussion by perhaps putting together a list of options, clarifying misconceptions, soliciting opinions from those in the best position to know, etc.

Review of Teams, posted 4 Jul 2007 by tapple (Journeyer)

Looking over the teams page the team list appears very out of date. Notably, there has been a lot of interest in tools and packages, which is (theoretically) the responsibility of the Software Engineering team and Packages team, respectively.

Also, the release team is not on that page (well, the 3.9 team is there).

Could the board do a review of the existing teams and ask the community if the defunct teams should be re-instantiated with fresh leadership, or dropped. Or, should the active teams be somewhat re-arranged? Or, more drastically, is the team model still a good fit for the community?

PS. This page is hard to find. You should make the meeting agenda publicly accessible from the board page .
